Commentary on the Eternal Book
BEING, the Primordial Reality, is at the same time "The BEING", HE WHO IS, and the simple, very fact of BEING. The simple, self-existent "Verb TO BE".
All things that are have in common the fact that they are, the fact of being, and are ultimately because of the Reality of BEING, because BEING IS. But BEING Himself is not dependent upon anything else to be; He is because He is. He is BEING. Such is the Eternal, One, Entity, the Cause of all Causes.
He is, eternally, NOW, beyond Time, pure BEING, Infinite Ocean of Bliss, containing all His Blissful Reality in an undifferentiated manner; and since He is absolutely ONE, and undifferentiated, beyond any distinction subject-object, though the Essence of Knowledge is in Him, as simple, ineffable, perception of BEING, He is beyond Knowledge.
He, BEING, the ONE, eternal blissful Reality, is essentially BEAUTY, LOVE; now Beauty has to be seen, Love to be shared... in His Eternal Moment, His Bliss "overflows": He experiences the Desire to Know Himself, to perceive Himself manifestly.
This is the start of the First Step of the Eternal Book (which is symbolized by the sign of Aries).
This Desire of BEING to know Himself is first of all a felt Emotion, and then appears as a Question, "Who Am I?", whose Answer, which is immediate, is: "I Am!". This is the emergence of the Consciousness of the One BEING. From this point of sudden Self-Awareness, He becomes aware of all His Attributes , while enunciating, naming Them.
These are the Ten Attributes, Which together constitute
the WORD, and include Masculine, Feminine, and Axial Attributes:
| Feminine Attributes |
Axial Attributes |
Masculine Attributes |
| Consciousness | ||
| Intelligence | Wisdom | |
| Force | Grace | |
| Beauty | ||
| Glory | Triumph | |
| Foundation | ||
| Space |
The Couple of Attributes Wisdom and Intelligence is
the Dimension of Reason; Grace and Force: Emotion; Triumph and Glory:
Accomplishment. Consciousness, Reason, Emotion, Beauty, Accomplishment,
Foundation, Space, constitute the Seven Letters of the Primeval Name of
BEING.
In the Second Step (symbolized by the sign of Taurus), the Word takes Form, the Attributes manifest Themselves in the various parts of the Body of the Truth. The Attributes comprising Masculine and Feminine, the FORM is ONE in TWO: a Young Boy and a Young Girl at the Age of Adolescence.
He-Who-Is and She-Who-Is, Face to Face, and She-Who-Is at the Right of He-Who-Is.
A large white Nimbus, which surrounds both of Their Heads, corresponds to Consciousness; Their Heads correspond to Wisdom and Intelligence. Grace and Force are in Their Arms, Beauty in Their Heart. Triumph and Glory are in Their Legs, from the Hips; Foundation is in Their Private Parts. Space is in Their Feet.
Simultaneously, in each of Their Limbs are present all Their Attributes, and in each the Powers of all the others.
Their Body is not a mere "garment" of Their Attributes, and unlike embodied souls who are distinct from their material bodies, They are Their Body. Their Form is pure Spirit, all Being, Knowledge and Bliss. And in the Supreme BEING, all is One: His Self, Attributes, Name, Form, Activities...
They are the same BEING Who, desiring to Know Himself, enunciates His Attributes, pronounces His Word and appears in His Form. They are not an emanation, nor a relativization, nor a symbolization... of BEING, but BEING Himself. Their Appearance (and all Their Story), proceeding from the Eternal Instant, is eternal; They are eternal, unborn.
They are the same One BEING, and simultaneously, once manifested, They retain Their Unmanifested Dimension: so They are now both unmanifested and manifested; and They have a third, intermediary, Dimension: Their "Thought" Aspect, The Breath or Thought of BEING Who emerged with the formulation of His Question "Who Am I?", and from there enunciated His Attributes. And They are One, and personal in each Dimension of Their Existence. BEING is not personal in His Form only, and impersonal in His Unmanifested State. It is because He is personal that even in His Unmanifested State He feels an Emotion, a Desire. And because He is personal He reveals Himself a Person.
When BEING, by His Word, reveals Himself to Himself in His exquisite Form of a Young Boy and a Young Girl, He and She, discovering Each Other, unite in Love. Such is the Dawn of the Manifestation. In His Love and by His Knowledge, BEING differentiated Himself; by Love, all the Aspects of Himself bear witness to His Perfect Unity. It is the Nectar of this Unity, Intimacy of Their Knowledge, Which is tasted by He and She in Their Union of Love.
In the Third Step (Gemini), He and She, pursuing the Objective of Their Manifestation, which is the Desire of BEING, THEIR Desire, to Know Himself, meditate upon Themselves.
In an Inner Journey, They consider Themselves in Their Name, in Their Attributes, in Their Form, from Consciousness to Space, from Head to Foot.
He and She, the Form of all Knowledge, detail Their Knowledge.
